We are pleased to welcome you and your family, and we look forward to working with you.
I look forward to coming to work: My days are spent talking and laughing with wonderful people, learning about their lives, and sharing stories. Dr. Hassan is truly a gentle dentist and she works with patients to ensure they’re comfortable, educated, and excited about their oral health.
I set up the room, sterilize the equipment and tools, and seat our patient. While I’m preparing him or her for treatment, I explain what we’ll be doing and answer any questions. Then I sit chairside, to provide a second set of hands to support Dr. Hassan. At the same time, I’m checking to make sure our patient is comfortable and explaining what we’re doing. When we’re done, I offer home-care instructions, ask if there are any questions, and make sure our patient is happy with the treatment.
Away from the office, I’m often with my spouse and our daughter and son. I enjoy jewelry-making and other crafts. I’m also a licensed hair and makeup artist.
Dental Assistant and Bookkeeper
We serve a diverse community and see patients from toddlers through grandparents: this keeps my days exciting! I like to get to know people, and learn about their lives, families, and interests. I’m always learning something new and love the friendships that develop with patients.
I wear two hats in our office. As a dental assistant, I set up rooms for treatments and make sure our patient is comfortable in the chair. I explain what Dr. Hassan will do and what to expect. Sitting chairside, I talk with the patient about the procedure and assist Dr. Hassan. At the end I talk with the patient about home care, answer questions, and make sure everyone is happy with the visit. I also help with the practice bookkeeping, since I have a degree in banking and accounting.
Outside of work, I’m often illustrating, painting, or cooking; I love to try new recipes! I also enjoy traveling and am an animal lover.
Registered Dental Hygienist
I worked as a dental assistant in high school and college, and graduated from SUNY-Farmingdale in 1970 with my degree in dental hygiene. Throughout my career, I have learned the importance of working with a group of people who come together as a team, and who support each other both in and out of the office. I found that here in 2015.
I work with patients on a one-on-one basis, provide them with education, take X-rays, and perform dental prophylaxis. Working with and getting to know my patients is the highlight of my job, because each person I meet is truly unique.
I am married to a wonderful man named Joe. We spend our time playing tennis and going on long walks.
I started my career in 1990 as a dental assistant, which led to dental hygiene school at SUNY Farmingdale, from which I graduated with my associate’s degree in 1993. I joined the team here in 2016 and immediately witnessed my coworkers’ willingness to help each other and their commitment to oral health and keeping patients comfortable and confident in their treatment.
My days involve maintaining the health of patients on a three-, four-, or six-month schedule. I also provide oral exams, periodontal screening, and oral hygiene instruction. I love educating patients about their oral healthcare! I enjoy meeting new people and having the opportunity to maintain healthy clean smiles!
My husband Enzo and I have been married for 15 years, and we have three children: Peter, Vincenzo, and Francesca. I enjoy working out and living a healthy lifestyle, both mentally and physically. I am very involved in my children’s schools and after-school activities. Time spent outdoors with family and movie and game nights are my favorite!
